good news! this is one release that I look forward to, especially since one of my dream roadtrips is 04-71.

so those web guys at dead.net must smoke some good shyte...this must be the third or fourth time in recent memory where they have posted something without checking the calendar...or something like that...maybe they are just trying to give the community a heads-up, though I do similar work and my ass would have been gone the first time...

Thanks for passing on the news. I'd been wondering about that release, and these discs do indeed look enticing!

for god's sake, will they ever put out something from '83 or '84 ? I know (most) everyone here really digs the early stuff but wow, one dp from '83 and that's it ?
i've always assumed the "family" considers that garcia's darkest period, but it was also some of the most intense shit they ever did. Those that were there know the real deal.cornell dew ? love it ! i cut my teeth on that stuff, but i'll take an '84 dew from hampton, augusta, marin, any day of the week. oh well...

Pretty cold, Pigpen doing his Lovelight rap at a prison. I'll be curious to hear that if it's on the bonus disc.

Now THATS MORE LIKE IT! Can't wait for this one! I'm curious to hear the SBD version of the 8/6/71 Hard To Handle and the board of the Yale Bowl Dark Star! This is the stuff I had hoped Road Trips would offer instead of a bunch of stuff already available like they put out on volumes 1 & 2. Hopefully a 1968 and 1970 Road Trips will come out someday too.
